Intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment services (IOP) are provided to assist an individual who may need more intense treatment but not actually need residential care. This may be part of the continuum of care as individuals who complete residential treatment typically attend IOP or individuals may be assessed at this level of care at entry. Clients should attend these group sessions which includes individual counseling as part of the services. Evolve is committed to the highest quality of care and provides individual counseling services to address issues that are not appropriate for group counseling or need more of a one on one interaction. These sessions are offered in the morning and the evening. Staff receives continuous training on best practices for holistic treatment of additive disorders and are all certified by The State of Maryland to provide treatment services.

This includes our step-down process and our traditional outpatient services process.
At Evolve, once an individual completes IOP they are encouraged to attend the step-down process. This process consists of group and individual counseling tailored to meet the client’s needs. In terms of stepping down, on the average an individual will attend two sessions per week and will eventually step down to one session per week. Sessions are typically one hour long and include topics such as relapse prevention and life skills.
Some are assessed and placed in level 1 or traditional outpatient. This process consists of group and/or individual counseling as minimal as one hour per week depending on the client’s needs. Treatment is individualized to fit the goals of the client.

Auricular detoxification has been used extensively in substance abuse treatment programs, hospitals, and prisons throughout the USA and the world for the past 30 years. Although the use of acupuncture to treat various medical conditions has been around for thousands of years, the use of acupuncture in the treatment of addiction is a relatively recent phenomenon. One of the most common responses observed clinically from subjects receiving a NADA treatment includes reports of improved sleep and feeling calm enough to cope. At Evolve, we believe in the holistic treatment of addiction disorders. Acu-detox treatment is a voluntary process that clients participate in if they want to. Education about the therapy through informed consent is part if the intake process. It is solely the client’s choice to receive this treatment which is part of a meditation/spiritual aspect of treatment.

The opiate blocker Vivitrol is offered to those who have a dependency on opiates and sometimes alcohol. A Nurse Practitioner works closely with clients to assess for the need for this treatment. The Nurse practitioner administers the shot monthly, as needed. This is an optional aspect to treatment that many find helpful in processing and denying the gratification of addiction to opiates.
